Joseph of Arimathea

A rich Jewish man who was a member of the ruling council when Christ was crucified. He secretly believed in Jesus but was afraid to tell others. After Christ died on the cross, Joseph asked Pilate for permission to remove the body. He helped place Jesus’s body in a new tomb he owned.
