Kishon River

A brook in the mountains of what is now northwestern Israel near Lebanon. During the winter, the melting snows from the mountains make it dangerous to cross. On the banks of the Kishon, the army of Deborah and Barak defeated the Canaanites led by Sisera. Many of the Canaanite soldiers were washed away by the raging Kishon when their chariot wheels were bogged down in the mud and water. This was proof to the Israelites that God was with them in the battle.
