Lazarus of Bethany

A close friend of Jesus. He was the brother of Martha and Mary. Jesus often visited Lazarus’s house in Bethany. Jesus didn’t rush to help when Lazarus was sick, and Lazarus died. Both Martha and Mary knew of Jesus’s power, and each wondered why He didn’t come earlier. But Jesus had a special reason: to bring Lazarus back to life. Later, the chief priests wanted to kill Lazarus because so many people heard about the miracle and believed in Jesus.
