Love

More than just a feeling of being attracted to someone or of feeling happy with someone—as we do with family, friends, or pets. Love means choosing to be kind and helpful to others even though we may not want to do so. When Jesus was asked to name the greatest commandment, love was the answer He gave: love God; love people. Love comes from God. God shows His love for us by caring for us all the time. He also showed it by sending His Son, Jesus, to take away our sins.

There are different types of love: the love between friends and the love we are to have for all people. Unconditional love is the most special kind of love there is. Unconditional love means you continue to love a person regardless of how that person acts. This is the love God shows. God’s power helps us love others, even our enemies.
