Manoah

Samson’s father. Manoah and his wife had wanted a child for a long time. One day an angel appeared to Manoah’s wife and told her that she would have a son and that she should dedicate him to the Lord as a Nazirite. Manoah asked God to send the angel again so they could ask him what to do with their son. When the angel came, he repeated his instructions. The angel’s word came true. A son—Samson—was born, and Manoah and his wife raised him according to the strict Nazirite laws.
