Mary of Bethany

The sister of Martha and Lazarus. Jesus often visited her family home in Bethany. Mary liked to sit with the disciples and listen to Jesus teach. When Martha scolded her for not helping prepare a meal, Jesus said that Mary had made the better choice. Mary also watched as Jesus brought her dead brother, Lazarus, back to life. Another time Mary was so filled with love for Jesus that she poured expensive perfume on His feet. Jesus appreciated her gift and told those around Him that this was a sign He was being prepared for burial.
