Micah, book of

An Old Testament book written by the prophet Micah just before Israel was conquered in 722 BC. In his book, Micah preached against the sins of the people. Micah predicted that the northern and southern kingdoms of Israel would be defeated by their enemies. But he also told how God would some day bless His people. The Messiah would come to fulfill God’s plan. Bethlehem would be the place where the ruler of Israel would be born. Micah reminded everyone that although God sees the sins of His people, He loves and forgives those who repent.
