Nard/Spikenard

A fragrant oil made from the roots and stems of the spikenard plant. It was a favorite perfume of ancient people. It was very expensive because it had to be imported from India. This was the ointment Mary placed on the feet of Jesus, as told in John 12:3. Mark 14:3 describes another time when nard was poured on the head of Jesus.
