Nicodemus

A Pharisee who belonged to the ruling Jewish council. Nicodemus wanted to know what Jesus taught. Because the Pharisees were enemies of Jesus, Nicodemus took his questions to Jesus secretly at night. When the Sanhedrin wanted to condemn Jesus without a fair trial, Nicodemus objected. But he was afraid to be an open follower of Jesus until after Jesus died. Then Nicodemus boldly showed that he was a disciple by helping to bury Jesus’s body.
