Philemon, book of

In AD 61, Paul wrote this short letter to Philemon, a believer living in Colossae (now southwestern Turkey). Philemon had a slave named Onesimus, who ran away and probably went to Rome, where he met Paul and became a Christian. Paul sent Onesimus back to Philemon with this letter, urging Philemon to receive Onesimus not as a slave but as a fellow believer.
