Romans, book of

Written by Paul around AD 58 to Christians he had never met in the city of Rome. In this letter, Paul talks about the “righteousness of God”—

righteousness given to believers thanks to the death and resurrection of Jesus. Paul was very careful to point out that although salvation is a free gift of God, it does not mean that Christians may go on sinning because God forgives them. We are to use the power of God’s Spirit to defeat sin.
