Silver

Silver was used as money and also to make things: cups and crowns for kings and nobles, jewelry, idols, and the trumpets, bowls, and other furnishings in the tabernacle and temple. Silver was refined in furnaces. Judas agreed to betray Jesus for thirty pieces of silver. Many silversmiths in Ephesus made silver statues of the Greek goddess Artemis.
