Stairway of Jacob

While traveling to the home of his uncle Laban in Haran, Jacob had a dream of a great stairway. Some Bible translations mention a ladder, others a stairway. On it, angels traveled to and from the earth. This was a sign of God’s commitment to take care of Jacob and be his God. Jesus later referred to Jacob’s dream but mentioned that angels would come down from heaven, just as they did in Jacob’s dream, only they would come down to the earth and return to heaven on the Son of Man. By this Jesus meant that He was the only way to God.
