Throne

Special chairs for kings or other heads of state on official occasions. Because rulers sit on thrones, a throne is often used as a word picture for authority and power. Thrones were often beautifully decorated. Solomon’s throne was made of ivory and gold and had twelve lion figures on its six steps. In visions, Isaiah, Ezekiel, Daniel, and John the apostle saw God on a throne. The New Testament also speaks of Jesus sitting on a throne to judge and rule the world, and Christians reigning with Him with justice and fairness.
