Treason

An attempt to overthrow the government or to switch one’s loyalties to another country. Conspiracy is another word used for treason. Queen Athaliah, who murdered most of her grandsons to take the throne of Judah, screamed, “Conspiracy!” when Jehoiada, the priest, anointed Josiah king of Judah. Jesus was accused of blasphemy and treason against Rome when He was crucified.
