Urim and Thummin/Lots
Objects used by priests to discover God’s choice in a matter. The Bible never describes these objects, only that they were thrown. Some have speculated that they were a way of prayerfully drawing straws in order to make a decision. We know only that they were a fair way for the Israelites to divide the land of Canaan. After Judas died, Matthias was chosen to be the twelfth disciple by casting lots. Lots also played a big part in the Feast of Purim.
