Caves

Openings in the earth. In Israel, where the hills are largely limestone or chalk, some are large enough to be used for homes. Lot and his two daughters lived in a cave after Sodom was destroyed. Some of the prophets hid in caves when Jezebel was trying to kill them. Caves were also used for storage and as burial places.
