Foot Washing

A special way to greet guests after they traveled. After a long journey, their feet would be tired and dirty from the dusty roads. Servants would use a bowl of cool water and fresh towels to bathe the feet of the travelers. Jesus shocked His disciples by washing their feet at the Last Supper. He taught them to serve one another. Some churches today have foot-washing services to remember Jesus’s example.
