Garden of Eden

The beautiful place God created for the first man and woman, Adam and Eve. In it grew many fruit trees and two special trees: the Tree of Life and the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. Adam and Eve lived in the garden until they sinned against God by eating the fruit of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil, which God had told them not to eat. People have always wondered where the garden of Eden was located. The only clue is Genesis 2:10–14, which says a river in the garden divided into four rivers: Pishon, Gihon, Tigris, and Euphrates. The Tigris and Euphrates Rivers are in western Asia. The location of the Pishon and Gihon Rivers remains unknown, however. The Bible says the Pishon flowed through a place called Havilah, where gold was found. This may have been India. The Gihon perhaps flowed through Ethiopia.
