God

The Creator; King; God of all creation. The Bible never tries to prove God exists; it assumes that everyone knows He does. The Bible shows us what God is like by letting us see what He does and how He responds to people and the things they do. But the most important way we know who God is and what He is like is to see Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ was God in a human body.

The Bible tells us many things about God: He loves us. He is everywhere. He knows everything. He has always existed and always will. He neither began (like a baby is born) nor will He ever die. He is holy. Unlike people, He has never done anything wrong, and could never do so. Only He is perfect. God is Spirit. He does not have a physical body as people have, although Jesus had a physical body because He became a man on earth.

The Bible does not tell us everything about God. No one could ever understand all there is to know about God. But we can understand enough to know that God wants us to believe Him, trust Him, love Him, and obey Him. We can start by learning about Jesus, who came to earth to be our Savior and to reveal God to us.
