Nathan

A prophet who was a counselor to King David. Nathan often delivered God’s messages to David. When David wanted to build a house of worship for God, he talked with Nathan. God told Nathan to tell David that David’s son would build the temple, not David. Several years later, Nathan told him that God would judge him for his sin with Bathsheba. When David was old and dying, Nathan learned that Adonijah, one of David’s sons, plotted to become king instead of Solomon. Nathan told David and then followed David’s orders to make Solomon king. Nathan also wrote a history of the reigns of David and Solomon, but no copies of his work have been saved.
